Last year I decided to invest in a new piano. When I went into the store, the owner told me that he’d kept a piano for me in the back. He showed me the Thürmer Pianola from 1870 (!). When I started to play this beauty, I immediately fell in love with it. It sounded intense, vintage, big and bright! The piano that I was looking originally had to be a really dark, classical and soft sounding.
A few weeks before, I had already fallen in love with the Zimmermann piano series (designed by Bechstein). I couldn’t resist it and bought both on the same day. Now I have full flexibility and a wide range of sounds to experiment and record with.
